Easter Six Bidding Prayers / Intercessions

The Priest says:

With confidence in God Our Father, we turn to him in prayer for all our needs.

 

Reader:

We pray for Pope Benedict XVI
may he be guided and strengthened by God, 
and provide an inspiration and an example to us all.
Lord in your mercy

We pray that we may have the strength and courage 
to follow in the way of Christ, 
to keep his commandments, 
and to give encouragement 
to those who seek his paths. 
Lord in your mercy,

We pray for those in special need throughout the world: 
those without food, those without shelter. 
We pray especially for those suffering through injustice and tyranny. 
Lord in your mercy

We pray for all those studying hard for exams at schools and colleges, may they be comforted at this stressful time 
and achieve what they are aiming for.
Lord in your mercy

Finally we pray for all who have died, our families and friends, and those who have died alone. May they now be enjoying the peace and joy of your Kingdom.

On this the final week of May, Our Lady’s month, let us ask her to pray for us and with us as we say.  Hail Mary…

Lord God, 
we ask you to listen to the prayers we make today in faith

Easter Five: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions

INTERCESSIONS FOR THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

Priest:

There is no-one in this world, nowhere on earth who is not loved by God. Let us bring all our needs and the needs of all nations and peoples to Him in prayer.

Reader:

We pray for the Church:  that we may remain faithful, trusting and loving so as to be one with our Saviour, Jesus Christ in our love for all people
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for the Pope, for cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Deacons and those in Religious Orders, that they may be guided by the Holy Spirit in all their words and deeds, and so guide us in truth, justice and peace
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for the missionaries and all who carry out God’s love for His people far from their homeland, may they be blessed with courage. 
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for parents, teachers and all who care for young people
that they may be blessed with health, patience and support to provide a secure and loving environment for all on their care. 
(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for the sick and dying of this parish and those recently dead, may the living be comforted and the dead find pardon and rest in glory. 
(pause) Lord in your mercy

Let us ask Our Lady to assist us with her prayers saying:  Hail Mary

In silence let us bring our own thoughts and intentions to God.

Easter Four bidding prayers / intercessions/ prayer of the faithful

INTERCESSIONS FOR THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

Priest:

God is our maker, redeemer and sustainer: we turn to Him for all our needs.

Reader:

Good Shepherd, risen from the dead, you gave to the apostle Peter the care of your flock; may Pope Benedict be ever strengthened in charity and zeal.
Lord in your mercy

Let us pray also for Archbishop Bernard and for all Bishops, priests, deacons and leaders of your Church; strengthen them in the spirit to carry out your work.
Lord in your mercy

We thank God for the diocese of Birmingham and we ask God to bless it with an increase in vocations to the priesthood, permanent Diaconate and religious life.
Lord in your mercy

We thank God for the work of Catholic schools in our diocese and throughout our nation and we ask God to bless them with an increase in vocations to Catholic education. 
Lord in your mercy

You called Mary to be your mother and ours; may we be always ready to use our gifts to care for others.
Lord in your mercy

Let us ask for the intercession of our Lady as we say Hail Mary

Easter Three: Bidding Prayers / Intercessions

INTERCESSIONS FOR THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER

Priest:

God is Love!  Jesus Christ showed us the personal nature of God’s love for us.  Let us bring all our needs and the needs of the world to our loving Father.

Reader:

We pray for the Church and for the unity of all Christians, may we see the joy of our risen Saviour in one another

(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray that God may lead us to an understanding of love - so that we truly hate sin but never hate the sinner

(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for wisdom and dedication to the common good in all our elected officials

(pause) Lord in your mercy

We pray for peace between nations.   (pause)Lord in your mercy

We pray for all in our parish who are unwell and for those who have died recently, may they abide in love

(pause) Lord in your mercy

We ask Our Lady to join her prayers to ours as we say - Hail Mary

In silence we bring our own requests to God.

Priest:

 

God of love, guided by the Spirit, in faith, in hope and in love,  we ask you to answer all our prayers, which we make through your beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Divine Mercy Sunday (Easter 2, Low Sunday) Bidding Prayers / Intercessions

Priest:Let us turn to God asking for all our needs and the needs of the Church and of all mankind.

 

Reader: We ask God to teach us to pray so that we can wholeheartedly praise Him, seek His mercy, show our gratitude and bring all our needs to Him (pause) Lord in your mercy

 

We pray for unbelievers and doubters that they may come to faith and trust and love of God – may our Easter joy be contagious  (pause) Lord in your mercy

 

We pray for politicians worldwide that they may never try to outlaw faith in God and the peaceful signs and symbols of religion  (pause) Lord in your mercy

 

We pray for Prince William and Catherine and for all families, newlyweds and those preparing for marriage that they may abide in love (pause) Lord in your mercy

 

We pray for those suffering loss or injury from war, fire, flood, storm and all other natural disasters may they be comforted and supported by those around them (pause) Lord in your mercy

 

God grant eternal rest to all who have died especially we remember those who have no-one to pray for them. (Pause)  Lord in your mercy
