Bidding Prayers for 27th Sunday of the Year (C)

 

Priest:

The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith.’ As followers of Jesus Christ let us confidence in God's willingness to hear us the prayers we make to him in faith

 

Reader:

Let us pray for the Pope, for bishops, priests, deacons and for all who minister in the Church: that their faith will be strong and that they will preach the Lord's message with zeal and compassion.
Lord, hear us.

 

Let us pray for our homes and families: that confident in our faith, we may be rejoice in  Christ and always be thankful for his gifts.
Lord, hear us.

 

Let us pray for those who have fallen away from their faith in Christ, that they may discover that they are not abandoned by God.
Lord, hear us

 

We pray for those who have died in faith, and those whose faith was known to God alone: that they may find eternal salvation.
Lord, hear us. 

 

Let us ask Our Lady of the Rosary to pray for us: Hail Mary … 

 

We pray for a moment in silence.  

 

Priest: 

Lord our God, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son 

we ask you to hear our prayers and to grant them, 

through the same Christ our Lord.

The Priest says:

The Lord Jesus calls us to proclaim his joy. Let us make our prayer with him to the Father for the needs of the Church and of the world.

 

Reader:

We pray for all leaders and all who exercise political authority;

may they respect people’s religious freedom 

so that all may live in harmony.

Lord, hear us. 

 

We pray for ourselves,

may we be heralds of the Good news 

as we share the joy of love with those they meet.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

 

We for all who work alongside the sick, the poor and the needy;

may the joy and help that they bring to others 

always be an expression of the love of Christ.

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us.

 

We pray for the faithful departed,

that through God's mercy they may rest in peace. 

Lord, hear us. Lord, graciously hear us. 

 

We ask Our Lady to pray for us. Hail Mary.

 

Let us pray in silence for our own needs.

 

The priest concludes the prayers:

Father, hear the prayers of the family you have gathered here before you. In mercy and love unite all your children, wherever they may be. Through Christ our Lord.
